Tenders
Why should you use the contract market in addition to the spot market? We’ll show you!

Tenders: a simple guide
What can I use tenders for on the TIMOCOM Marketplace?
The TIMOCOM Tenders service is a great way to find business partners for regular transport in just a few clicks. In contrast to the fast-paced spot market, tenders offer you stability and planning security.
Here’s our tip: make use of both TIMOCOM’s Tenders service and the Freight Exchange. This will give you maximum flexibility and a range of options. Supply chains are highly susceptible to disruption, be it due to economic challenges or unforeseeable events. Whether it’s short-term interruptions or long-term bottlenecks, by using the spot market and contract business in parallel, you’ll be prepared for any eventuality. The TIMOCOM Marketplace helps you overcome challenges and secure your transport.
How do I create a meaningful tender?
Need transport service providers or vehicles for regular transport?
It’s as easy as 123:
- Select Transport route if you want to tender specific transport routes. Select Transport area if you are looking for vehicles that you can schedule yourself.
- After that, the more information you provide in the tender, the better. This will minimise the need for follow-up questions and reduce the amount of communication required.
- Done! Now you can publish your tender.
- Please note: you cannot adjust tenders once they have been published.
Do you have special transport requirements that not everyone can fulfil?
If your tender includes special requirements (vehicle type, hazardous goods, GDP certification, etc.) that not every customer can fulfil, this often results in queries and a flood of e-mails.
To prevent this, you can not only exclude bidders from the group of recipients, but also add specific companies.
It’s as easy as 123:
- When creating a new tender, select the ‘Group of recipients’ tab.
- Select ‘Invite service providers’ and search for the desired companies that you want to participate in the tender.
- Then select the desired companies and add them to the group of recipients.

How do I successfully bid on tenders?
Want to make further use of your vehicle capacities or looking for fixed orders?
If you are looking for permanent customers, you can use the ‘Bid’ tab to search for suitable tenders. Or, for added convenience, simply opt to be notified when suitable tenders are issued! To do this, all you need to do is enter your search requirements just once and save them. So you can sit back, relax and be informed immediately by e-mail when suitable tenders are issued.
If something suitable comes up, you can place a bid for the route. If employees or vehicles are unavailable, you can of course withdraw your bid at any time.
Please note: you will only find out whether you have been awarded the contract after the tender process has ended.
We wish you every success in your business!
