Holiday driving bans for trucks in France
In France, just like in many other countries, a truck driving ban is in place during the summer months. This was introduced to relieve the strain on tourist traffic.
The ban applies from 1 July to 31 August 2025 on Saturdays from 7 am to 7 pm on the entire route network, with the exception of special vehicles and agricultural vehicles.
Regional and seasonal truck driving bans in France
There are a whole range of regional truck driving bans in France.
For example, trucks are banned from driving in the Rhône-Alpes region on Saturdays between 7 am and 6 pm and 4 hours later from 10 pm to 12 noon on Sunday, with the exception of special vehicles and agricultural vehicles.
