FTL (Full Truck Load)
An FTL is a transport in which a truck is transporting one load only, and this load fills the entire truck.
FTLs are welcomed by both the driver and the haulage contractor and client. The transport company does not have to pay extra for notification, invoicing, or waiting times at one or more loading/unloading points. The driver does not have to do as much in terms of loading and unloading, or securing the freight. The client has the security of knowing that this is the fastest transport method for getting their goods directly from the loading point to the recipient.
A partial load, also known as an LTL (Less Than Truckload), is the opposite of a FTL. A full container is known as an FCL (Full Container Load), in transport by rail the term is wagon-load.
